A little story to tell....
My GYROTONIC® journey started with a very casual conversation with my dancer friend in New York City. She suggested me to join a group tower class with her on the same week when we talked. I was immidiately hooked! It was a new and fresh sensation that I haven't had either through dancing or any other physical activities. I also knew at the moment that 'this is something that I'd love to share with people' I was always interested in learing more about body and movement how they can relate to each other and connect. Since then, I've been pursuing my path as a trainer and also as a student.
My background...
I grew up in a soil of Japan until age of 15. I took a path to spend more time for dancing by entering to Walnuthill School for the Arts in Boston, I learned different variety of dance styles;Jazz, African, Modern, Contemporaly Ballet. My body got to know differet movemnet patterns. However, me having a scoliosis caused many injuries and one severe injury took me down to a major surgery. I couldn't dance for 8 months with two big screws were inside of my foot to connect my ligament. It was -20℃ freezing cold in Boston winter time. I was super depressed and I seriously thought about quitting dance and giving up on the college degree. However, one of the teachers was a certified trainer for Alexander Technique. She has taught me how important to get to know your body and give a time for healing process. After recovering from the surgery, I had no problem with dancing, so I entereted the world of New York City to be a freelance dancer. I've worked for music videos, performed on stage, danced at museumes....Throught the tough reharsal times wiht busy schedule, my body kept strong with no injury because of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®.
Why I'd like to teach GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®...
The reason why I wrote all of this on bio here is because I'd like you to know me as a person before getting into whether getting a session of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® or, pre-training with me. I'd like to get to know a person and its body, and see how I can guide through movements with a use of the methods to lead into more potential body. If you're in pain, I'd like to be there to create a safe environment and guide into a pain-free body. There is no perfection, but I can try my best to share my knowledge what I have so far with you, and.... a lot of laughter! I will make you smile:) That's just who I am. My experiecnes in the past created how I wanted to pursue me as a trainer. There are lot to share, and I'd like to be there for you.
Thank you for reading until the end....
