About
I am an energetic practitioner and approach each client like a dance coach instructing the principle dancer. My clients tell me that this approach makes them feel hopeful, and inspires their healing process. I am a licensed Physical Therapist and have worked in just about every venue my profession offers, from wound care in the hospital, to orthopedics in the state Mental Health hospital. I am fascinated by pain science and use the neurodynamic approach with great results.
I suffered from migraines and chronic pain from the time I was five years old. I danced professionally for a short time before pain got in the way. In Physical Therapy school I studied techniques to correct my personal pain issues, but was not pain free until I found Gyrotonic.
I became a Master trainer and happily share this wonderful technique with many people around the world seeking to improve the lives and well being of others. I founded my studio, Balance in Form in 2001 and since that day have eliminated the use of the word "patient." In many cases, the medicalization of pain has caused heartache, drug abuse, unnecessary surgery, and , worse, the cessation of pleasurable movement. It is my goal to help each client move with joy.
