About

I am a forever student athlete, lover of all things movement and musical.  I have been a Pilates enthusiast for ten years and have been thirstily absorbing the Method, teaching Pilates for two years.  I am also the owner of Ischyra Soma Fitness, LLC.

As a child, I gravitated to dance and played in the state orchestra.   During my pre-collegiate career, I pursued basketball and added cheerleading to round out my athletic career.  After college, I cheered and danced semi-professionally as a member of Lady Mutiny (Virginia Mutiny, MDFL) for three years and spent an additional two years as Director for Mutiny Cheer managing all business aspects of the team and its dance program.

When my knee began to deteriorate due to injury, Pilates was recommended. I believe that Pilates can lead to “better living through strength and grace”.  Pilates allowed me to regain my athleticism, reunited my mind and body, and develop muscle and strength.

I am currently a communications and policy professional.  I have demonstrated success in effectively executing multi-disciplinary programs and managing multi-functional staff of all levels around the world.  I have expertise in business management, human resources, adult education, project management, organizational development and marketing.
