Juliu conducted a Gyrokinesis class on Feb 13th in Mexico City. This was the first time he taught a class in Mexico City. Many students and some long time students showed up. It was a great, great event and nicely done with a welcome and an afterparty. The organisation was done by Maria Rosa, Christina Catalayud and Margaritha Santillan

Juliu also conducted a Gyrokinesis Breathing Course in Playa del Carmen with students from all over the world. The course was held in a Mayan-influenced environment, which made it very special. Also, the fact that the classroom was basically outside and surrounded by trees, added to the enthusiasm of the students. The Mexican students were very gracious hosts, helping international students with language translation, and having a good time socializing with everyone outside of class.

Exercise booking spam
Trainers, We have had a number of reports of trainers receiving e-mails from someone claiming to be an international client who wants to book numerous GYROTONIC® sessions for a group of people who will be visiting the trainer's area for a few weeks. A few subject lines listed for these e-mails have been: "exercise booking inquiry" and "booking inquiry". This appears to be some sort of spam. Considering that a number of trainers have received these e-mails, it is likely that someone used a spamware program to gather up Gyrotonic trainer e-mail addresses from the internet. If you do receive an e-mail like this, delete it, and make sure you don't open any attachments.

WHITE CLOUD® OPERA
With the help of a passionate group of Gyrotonic Trainers and students, Pietro Gagliardi, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer and owner of White Cloud Studio in Rome, Italy, has created an international, not-for profit dance company- The White Cloud ® Opera. This is no ordinary dance company. Everyone participating in the organization, from the dancers, to the cameraman and the accountant, are active Gyrotonic practitioners and the companies performances are inspired by and infused with the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods.
On January 24, 2012, they will be presenting their latest performance, “Timeless” in Rome Italy. Gyrotonic Master Trainer, Marika Vanuzzi correographed the performance and Gyrotonic Master Trainer, Elisabetta Carnevale is the principal dancer. Over 30 Gyrotonic trainers and students have come together to perform for the all-volunteer company. While Marika, Elisabetta, and many of the other performers are accomplished professional dancers, this is not a pre-requisite for the company. Musicians, writers, photographers, artists and students who just have a love for Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercise all have a place at the White Cloud Opera.
Proceeds from the January show will go to a local hospital- Ospedale San Camillo, reparto di Sclerosi Multipla, to support research on the the effects of Gyrotonic exercise on Multiple Sclerosis.
You can learn more about the White Cloud Opera at www.whitecloudopera.org and see footage from one of their previous performances by clicking here. You can also expect to see a lot more of them, as the company grows and their performances expand internationally.

GYROKINESIS® retreat in Bali

In May 2011, GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS Master Trainer, Debra Rose conducted a retreat in Ubud, Bali. Ubud is the town that author, Elizabeth Gilbert wrote about in the book/movie Eat, Pray, Love . It is a really special place and the perfect setting for a Gyrokinesis workshop. Here are some words from Debra about the retreat:
| Bali
is an island located in South East Asia near the equator. We had our retreat in the town of Ubud, which
is up in the mountains where there are cool breezes all the time. The weather was perfect. The climate allows the body to open up with such
ease it is a pleasure. Ubud is
considered the artistic and spiritual center of the Island. Bali is literally covered in flowers; making
it one of the most stunning places I have ever seen. The energy of the place is so relaxed. These are some of the reasons I choose this
location to create my first self -hosted travel training. |
 |
I
taught a three-day update for licensed GYROKINESIS® trainers. We then we had a day off and proceeded with a
three-day extravaganza that had no prerequisite. There were trainers who have been teaching
over a decade mixed with people who have very little experience with the system
all together in one event. We all
learned a lot, laughed a lot, worked hard and had a ball.
On
our day off some people choose to go shopping. There are wonderful crafts, the clothes are
unusual, and the prices can’t be beat. Forrest
and I did an eco bike trip from the top of the Penginapan Volcano back to Ubud. They drove us to the top of the volcano
early in the morning and served us breakfast there. Then we picked out our
bikes and rode down stopping along the way at different sites such as this
amazing tree where Forrest found his most exciting friend.
Forrest and I made friends with our Archway mascot
when we went on Safari after everyone went home. This Bali adventure was one of
our most memorable experiences. If you
are interested in our next Bali adventure in 2013 contact my course coordinator
